Munich March 2019 Day 2

Hi,
After 10 hours of sleep I woke up a bit dazed so I thought perhaps I should go for a swim to wake myself up. There is a really lovely pool in the hotel so I spent a half hour jogging, jumping jacking, and kicking myself around the pool. There were no other people there so of course it was lovely.

I quickly ran out to the Messe- a 25 minute cab ride-  to get door passes to the Schmuck fair which starts tomorrow from Marie-Jose at Galerie Marzee for some of the other jewelry collectors here. Everyone at Marzee's booth was in full working mode .... ah I remember the days of setting up and it makes my back hurt.

I hurried back to the hotel for lunch with DR. It is always lovely to see her and I look forward to spending some time with her for the next couple of days. Then I found my way to a flower shop to buy tulips for Otto Kunzli and walk to his house again. And again we had a lovely conversation but today it was more focused on particular pieces.

We started with hearts. One of the first was the Big Red Heart (which I don't have) but this was where the idea of doing hearts started so in order to tell me the story of my heart pieces he had to start with it.

And went on through though the one below where the heart attached to the bottom of the ring will be lost - it always breaks off so it is titled Don't Worry .

Then this is the gold one upside down and I don't know if you can see it but in the image on the right there is a heart shaped hole in the round bead on the red string. So he is experimenting with all kinds of emotions related to hearts.

and then to 2 pieces that are part of the collection...One is called One Meter of Love on the left and the other is The Wedge. The Meter asks the question - how much do you love me? and the Wedge is the heart breaking part of loving when there is a wedge that comes between two.

Then we moved on to eyes. I don't have any of these in the collection. Do you think I should get one? Which one would you choose?

I was sad to end our conversation but it had been another few hours and we were both getting tired. On the way back to the hotel I walked by this -only in Germany- shop.

And these fragrant flowers- I don't know what they are- Do you?

Otto gave me this wonderful 'Golden Arches' pendant to add to the grouping I already have. He said that the collection in the US should have this piece.

Tomorrow the real action starts so this was just a tiny warm up.

xox,
Susan
