Hi,
This was a quiet day. Not much happened. Schmuck doesn't start until Wednesday 3/8 so I don't have much to report today.
It took me most of today to figure out where I want to go in the next few days. There is information in various listings but nowhere can you find all the facts or all the locations, addresses, and times for all the events. So I spent hours pouring over the lists I had and writing to locations that were unclear about something they were offering or when they were open. As you can guess this isn't a terribly exciting topic to cover in a blog post. So you will just get to see a couple of the other things I did but nothing related to jewelry or art.
In the morning I went down to the pool and did my water aerobics for 50 minutes. Without my gloves and flotation belt it was harder than usual. Here is the lovely pool here at the hotel. You have seen these images or ones like them before if they look familiar.

After a shower and some searching for schmuck events, I went to lunch and sat at the end of the room away from anyone else. As you can see there weren't too many people to get away from.
After lunch, I asked the concierge how to get to the nearby grocery store which I remember going to in years past but it is a tricky place to find and I didn't remember how to get there. So he took me outside the hotel and pointed here and there - it was very close but it was underground so I had to find a way to get underground. Anyway, I went round and round trying to find the secret door that lead to the underground.... but guess what I just had to go to the underground U-Bahn entrance which I finally found by asking first a taxi driver, then a smoking clerk hanging out by the U-Bahn entrance. Having found it I bought blueberries and almond (mandel) milk and returned to the hotel.
This is me trying to find the entrance to the grocery store:
And then after I found the store I headed back in the wrong direction to the hotel but finally saw this:
It is near the hotel so I was finally headed in the right direction. For me to get this confused is not normal. It must be jet lag.

After a lovely massage, I had dinner with Rosi Jaeger from the gallery. She is one of my favs.
She brought me the brooch I saw last July at Schmuck by Bettina Dittlemann and I have been waiting to get it. So here it is. It is made using magnets so the pieces all move around. It can be taken completely apart and then put back together.
She also gave me this beautiful book about the work of Esther Brinkmann. I have a couple of her rings in the Rotasa collection.
Here are a couple of rings I have in the Rotasa Collection. They are worn together and stored in the box.
So that is all for now folks. Tomorrow you should get some more interesting images.
Hugs,
Susan
