Munich March 2023

 Hi,

I traveling to Munich for Schmuck again. I will try to give you a glimpse of what I see there and hopefully, that will entertain you. Please write to me if you find something compelling or unusual or extremely beautiful. I would love your comments.

To start. Here are some tulips against the early morning sky in Tiburon. I wonder sometimes how I can leave this place.

The flight was easy and I watched two movies both of which I would highly recommend. Tea with Mussolini starring all the great old English actresses like Maggie Smith, Joan Plowright, and  Judy Dench as well as surprise - Cher. It takes place in Florence right before and during WWII. So charming and touching. Then I watched my favorite film of all time or if not the favorite very close to it- American Beauty. It is a profoundly moving film from 1999 and if you haven't seen it please take the time. There is a scene in it of the movements of a plastic bag floating on the wind that believe it or not is mesmerizing.  The music also captures the mood and is extremely memorable. But the story is about unhappiness and unconsciousness and strangeness and is just heartbreaking.

I have arrived at the Charles Hotel where I always stay in Munich. It is cold here- 35 degrees and overcast. It is supposed to be cold and maybe rainy the last half of the week.

Here are some shots of the drive into town from the airport:

And of the room:

So now you can kind of see where I am hanging out tonight. I had dinner but forgot to photograph that. Usually, that is something my friend Ralph does so I'll leave those shots for him.

Good night and I'll be back again tomorrow. Have a wonderful day.

Hugs,
Susan
