Zurich and Lausanne September 2023

 Hi,

I'm back and will try to fill you in on the day.

We packed up our clothes and took a taxi to the Park Hyatt with our suitcases and everything, It was too early to check in so we left our suitcases and went to visit the Via  Dukt which was a wonderful grouping of shops built into an old viaduct.

This is part of the market under the viaduct. We kind of got hung up on this food part. It was so delicious.

These blue berries we a welcome site. I need them for my breakfast. Yum.

Don't these look great!

We had an unmemorable lunch at the Via Dukt and then bought some blueberries and walked back to the Park Hyatt. After a coffee and a sit-down, we walked back to the Ameron and got on the bus. We waited for about a half hour for a couple of people... never again.... and then went on a tour of the city. I will show you some of what we saw with the help of photos by Linda Peshkin.

I love this next one.... take a moment. Thank you Linda for the photo.

And this one

Then we stopped into a jewelry gallery called Friends of Carlotta

And then we stopped by Cafe Voltaire, the birthplace of Dada - there isn't much there except these signs.

We got a ride from the hotel car back to Ameron for dinner with the gang.

After dinner we walked home. It was a beautiful night.

So that was it. I hope it felt a little like you were in Zurich for a few minutes. It really has a wonderful old feeling here but is somehow also modern.  It was a beautiful day and we walked over 15,000 steps which is a huge amount for me even though I know David Sedaris would think that was nothing.

Now to sleep.

Hugs,
Susan
