Venice 2024 Saturday

Hi,

This was a simple day, but I love walking around Venice so I wanted to give you some idea of what that feels and looks like. I included a lot of images from our walks.

First is the Julie Mehretu show at the Palazzo Grassi. I love this location. Every year there is a good show here. Julie invited several other artists to participate in the show.

 David Hammons

There was a video of how Julie works. She was talking about the background of her images and many things like buildings that I never saw before.

She had an Ethiopian father and a caucasian mother

Rose and I liked this painting. I can't say that about all of her work. But this show gave me a greater appreciation for what she does.

This wood carving is by Paul Pfeiffer.

We stopped at a beautiful shop. It turned out to be the studio of Gigi Bon called Mirabilia. Just my kind of fascinating place.

So that is the end of a wonderful, but not too busy day.

Sunday we will be leaving so I have one more day to report to you. We did a lot that day.

I hope you are all well.

Hugs,
Susan
