Hi,
Now as promised I am going to show you things I saw today in Venice.
I said goodbye yesterday to Nijmegen and Galerie Marzee with a heavy heart.
Got on the train for Amsterdam
Got to the Amsterdam airport and flew to Venice where I got a Water Taxi to the Cipriani Hotel. Here are the first sights of Venice. Soak it in.
I met up with Rose and we had an early simple dinner at the hotel bar. The next morning this was the breakfast spread.... Wow...
This guy wanders around with the falcon scaring off the pigeons and seagulls so they won't eat the food we are trying to eat.
After breakfast..... worked out, swam, and took a shower then after lunch we went to the island nearby called San Giorgio Maggiore and saw one spectacular show and two other shows of much less interest. I am just going to show you what I saw including the descriptions without further comment. This first one was so moving. It was a show by Berlinde de Bruyckere called City of Refuge III. Most of the pieces were cast in paraffin.
Then on to a glass show that was not so moving but kind of pretty.
Then to a Helmut Newton show.
Then back to the hotel to rest up before dinner at Harry's Dolci. Which by the way was overpriced and not very good.
It is the magical time of night when the light is just gorgeous
And then it was night. And look what we came across on the walk home. When was the last time you saw one of these?
