Hi,
Yesterday, I started the day with our guide walking around town for an hour. This is a colorful and lively town with beautiful spiritual overtones.
The first thing we saw was this tree with the Madonna painted in the hollow. Clever.
We then went to the big cathedral a few blocks away
This the United Nations street. Very colorful and several blocks long.
Then on to another church
That was the end of the guided tour. I have decided today not to go on the AJF tour but to spend time in the hotel and just plain relaxing and reading Barbara Kingsolver's book called The Lacuna, which is about Mexico. But I did go out for a walk and ran across the most joyous wedding in front of the cathedral we visited earlier.
Saw this on the way there.
The bride was named Rosi and the groom Tato - you can see their names on the white ball. And there are big puppets of them walking on either side of the ball.
Can you see the little bull head in the center of the crowd?
Thei image is how I felt after seeing the joyous wedding.
Later that day D and P and L went to dinner and on the way was this colorful wall
Here is the restaurant Asador Bacanora. It was delicious.
Then back to the hotel.
