Day 4 Mexico City.

 Hi,

First, let me correct a statement I made about Mexico City being the largest city in the world. It feels like that, but actually, it is the sixth-largest city in the world.

Now on to today.  We started with this mural that tells a lot about the history of Mexico.

There are messes of electrical wires in the city

Performer outside of Frieda Kahlo's Blue House

The entrance to the Blue House

The next set of images is from inside the house and garden.

Then we saw photographs of Frieda's family. There were 4 girls.

Frida's painting of her family

A painting of her father- see image above for comparison

Her shoe with a lift that she used after her accident

Photos of her back surgery and in a cast. She had over 20 surgeries in her lifetime

She was friends with Duchamp..is this the original?

More bottles filled with pigments or something (for Signe)

Her life by years. She seemed to die

Then after that we went to a market. It was a different one but similar to yesterday.

Edible insects

Lunch at Corazón de Maguex- they did serve insects too....

Then on to the Diego Rivera collection of Pre-Columbian objects, which is housed in this monumental building.

And finally, the library building at the university, which we will investigate tomorrow.

That is all, folks.

Hugs,
Susan
