Day 8 Mexico City

 Hi,

Today was the day we went from Mexico City to Oaxaca, and we took a 9-hour bus ride to get there. We stopped in Puebla for lunch and a museum viewing for a couple of hours in the middle of the day but it still seemed (and was) a long time on the bus.

We arrived in Puebla known for its culinary history, colonial architecture and pottery.

Here is the Museum

We saw the show of Kader Attia.

Vanishing Point

This image and the ones to follow are called Jacob's Ladder. According to the signage "it is a labyrinth of objectifiied knowledge, offering up glimpeses of a mysticism of times, myths, and scientific events." I just thought it was intriquing because I love all those old insturments and books in the center section. And then the tall stackes of books which are surrounding this center display.

Then we got to the piece called Rain Sticks

The followin two objects were in the room with the rain sticks.

The courtyard in the museum

A beautiful courtyard but I don't recall where it was....

Now we are up on the roof of the museum which we were told had beautiful views. And it does.

Next was lunch- we are definite well fed on this trip.

Interior of the restaurant with the group at tables on the left.

Then back on the bus for the rest of the trip. Enjoy the scenery.

We finally arrived at our hotel around 8:45 and were starving and rushing around to get to our rooms and unpack.

That is all for today. Tomorrow is totally pack so hang on to your hats.

Hugs,
Susan
