Munich - Day 1

Hi all,

I am not sure you will be interested in this but if not just ignore and if so enjoy.

In the tradition of my friend Ralph who writes a blog every time he travels I am going to try to write to you daily to let you know what is going on from day to day in Munich- including as much as possible about the food and my daily routine. I probably will forget to take images from time to time but I will do my best. Hope you enjoy it.

Sunday March 4.

I am leaving from the LAX International Terminal since Rose and I were in LA for her Dad’s 101st birthday party on Saturday night. The terminal is a trip. There are videos everywhere in the main part of the building. I don’t know if they are meant to impress the newly arrived travelers to LA or if they are just the kind of tricky videos that artists love to make. Here are some photos:

Notice the big Ben-like clock tower… it will change and on the upper left the multi-panel with images of the ocean… it will change too.

And then the multi panel changes:

Monday, March 5

Ok enough of the airport. I have arrived at around 3 pm at The Charles Hotel in Munich after a very smooth flight with a pretty good sleep.  One of my favorite places to stay. After my arrival I went shopping for blueberries and almond milk for breakfast and then a swim in the hotel pool and then dinner in the hotel dining room.

Tuesday, March 6

After a pretty good nights sleep I had my usual breakfast of some nuts and seeds with blueberries and almond milk, a black tea and a New York Times

That was followed by a planning breakfast in the hotel dining room with Michael and Karen Rotenberg for our Friday jaunt. The concierge was very accommodating about putting together our list from what Michael had worked out on last years map since unfortunately this year there is no map. So we are set for Friday.

More to follow as I venture out today to see some shows that have already opened.

Hugs,
Susan
