Day 1 Mexico City

 Hi,

My plan is to post a blog entry every day during my trip with AJF to Mexico City and Oaxaca. But as you know, this might not be possible. 

I arrived last night after a longish flight from SFO. The J W Marriott hotel is lovely-  although I found the drive from the airport last night a bit disconcerting and weird. I am used to going to Europe, and the culture here is very different. 

In the airport, I saw this wonderful sculpture by Alison Saar.

This was the view flying into the city.

My room is on the 21st floor and is lovely with a great view of a park. Notice the military machinery in the green....

There is a beautiful park beyond this building, which is an auditorium and was crawling with people at an early hour.

Tomorrow I am going on a tour of a couple of Luis Barragán's buildings.
